Overview

Job Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring daily environmental compliance record keeping for the Groton Shipyard and Quonset Point Facility. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, invoice management, vendor management, metrics, and database management for both facilities. This individual will interface routinely with other members in the department as well as finance and operations personnel.

The selected candidate will be assigned to the Groton Shipyard, but will be requested to travel to Quonset Point. The position requires strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate confidence and knowledge. Strong attention to detail is required. Database management knowledge is also required. Candidate will be expected to develop a working knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations and how these regulations are applied in an industrial facility.

Duties include the following:

Microsoft Access, Excel and Word

Compilation of charts, tables and graphs to meet business needs

Use of company purchasing software to approve and review invoices

Ability to provide reports and analysis of environmental data

Upload data to waste management databases

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma with 2-4 years of relevant work experience OR College Degree

Preferred:

  • College degree in Environmental preferred

  • Experience in database design preferred

  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations preferred

Skills

Candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

Candidate must have a strong interest in environmental topics

Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to complete work accurately - attention to detail is essential.

A team attitude and willing and capable to work well with other team members and other organizations.
