About the Position: These positions are located with the: US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, SACRAMENTO DISTRICT, REGULATORY DIVISION. Duty locations are Sacramento, CA and Bountiful, UT.

Sacramento:

GS-06 Pay Rate: $40,285 - $52,365 (Steps 01 - 10).

GS-07 Pay Rate: $44,767 - $58,196 (Steps 01 - 10).

Bountiful:

GS-06 Pay Rate: $37,223 - $48,385 (Steps 01 - 10).

GS-07 Pay Rate: $41,365 - $53,773 (Steps 01 - 10).

Responsibilities

This position is developmental in nature, leading to the target grade of GS-07. If selected at the GS-06 grade level, upon meeting regulatory and performance requirements the incumbent may be promoted non-competitively to the target level, GS-07. Promotion is not guaranteed.

  • Generally the incumbent performs duties, in addition to classroom training, designed to provide an orientation in the application of theories and basic principles and practices in support of this occupational area.

  • Receives formal and on-the-job instructions designed to familiarize incumbent with the functions and operations of the program area and work responsibility.

  • Incumbent serves as the Regulatory Assistant (Office Automation) at the district office or at a Regulatory field office.

  • Coordinates with Regulatory personnel on a daily basis, exercises considerable judgment in making independent decisions on all administrative matters using past experience, comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures, office objectives, and recent activities.

  • Incumbent serves as a resource person to other Regulatory personnel pertaining to the inputting, storing, and retrieving of information via office automation.

  • Enters, maintains and retrieves information using automated databases.

  • Performs a variety of other general clerical and administrative duties to include reserving conference rooms, paying bills, operating and ensuring maintenance of office equipment such as printers and fax machines, and ensuring vehicle maintenance, record keeping, and GSA mileage.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - TDY (Temporary Duty Travel) is approximately 10-25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. For the GS-0303-06 -

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using office automation systems or software to input timekeeping, input travel orders or training requests, and/or prepare correspondence; as well as responding to external customers (through email, phone, or in person) to answer inquiries or redirect to the appropriate staff or supervisor, and to input customer information into a database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business administration, biology, environmental sciences, cultural resources, organization and management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

For the GS-0303-07 -

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes permit applications, compliance, and/or enforcement cases for activities in waters of the United State and/or navigable waters of the United States within the regulatory authority of the Clean Water Act and the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business administration, biology, environmental sciences, cultural resources, organization and management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
