Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Two years of professional experience in environmental studies or science, sustainability, landscape architecture, ecology, biology, engineering, energy management, climatology, urban planning, public health, or other natural or physical science-related field are required.

The Resilience Coordinator 2 Heat job includes supporting the Chief Heat Officer in the implementation and tracking of progress on the Extreme Heat Action Plan. Specifically, the Resilience Coordinator 2 will assist with conducting background research for new program development, drafting presentations and project proposals, collection and analysis of data, and performance tracking particularly related to the program design, resource development, and community engagement around implementing actions that will mitigate urban heat islands and/or help people stay cool affordably in their homes.
The Resilience Coordinator 2 will also be responsible for managing special projects, such as coordinating the implementation of the community forestry plan, as directed by the Chief Heat Officer (CHO). The Resilience Coordinator 2 Heat will be required to stay informed about new developments and trends in extreme heat management and urban heat island mitigation, community engagement, and relevant international, national, and local policies. The Resilience Coordinator 2 Heat must apply strong research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills to identify opportunities for greater impact and synergies. Furthermore, the Resilience Coordinator 2 Heat will support the development and implementation of a system for evaluating and measuring programmatic outcomes and effectiveness of the actions within the Extreme Heat Action Plan and make recommendations regarding process improvements to accelerate implementation and to further enhance current and future programs.
