Job Description:

The Regulatory Affairs Specialist (w/ history of successful device submissions) will provide global support for medical devices, is responsible for activities that lead to and maintain regulatory approval/clearance of these devices, (EU MDR) and assesses the regulatory implications of changes to these devices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare technical dossiers for initial and renewal submissions within the European Union. Compile the necessary information and deliverables in preparation of the submissions.

Provide support to currently marketed products, as necessary. This includes reviewing product changes, labeling changes, promotional materials, and assessing the need for regulatory agency approval/clearance prior to implementation of changes.

Provide product information to worldwide peers for international product submissions, re-certifications, and change notifications. May support submissions to WW regulatory agencies as assigned.

Maintain regulatory affairs product files to support compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME:

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and graphics presentation applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Documentum, SharePoint, and SiteBuilder).

Competency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat

A BA/BS/MS/Law degree

Experience with FDA requirements, guidance documents, Medical Device Directive, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, and other global regulatory requirements and quality standards. History of successful device submissions

The Sr MA Specialist is skilled at literature research, interpretation, synthesis and medical writing to create high quality MI letters. The Sr MA Specialist works with limited oversight on a range of scientific activities of varying complexity, and provides general scientific support to internal functions, including review and development of scientific materials and communications. The Sr MA Specialist is well versed on published evidence within a therapeutic area (TA) and partners with internal functions, field personnel, and physicians to leverage best available evidence to meet educational and business needs and support scientific evidence-based decision making. A Day in The Life The individual will provide a range of scientific services for assigned therapy(ies), including application of: Scientific Knowledge and Experience: * Medical Information (MI): Maintain medical/scientific knowledge in therapy area(s) science, medical specialties, diagnoses, treatments and procedures related to assigned therapy area(s). Leverage medical/scientific expertise to competently address a broad range of medical and scientific inquiries from HCPs and internal personnel. Search, critically evaluate, and synthesize published medical and scientific literature, clinical study data, or other relevant data sources to address inquiries. Author high quality MI letters and maintain accurate documentation in the MI database. Develop and maintain standard responses (SRs) on common topics. Participate in MI Intake process to manage unsolicited requests for medical information. * Scientific Materials/Communication: Review scientific materials such as literature, abstracts, posters, manuscripts for publication, slides sets, and promotional materials for scientific content, off-label use considerations, and fairness. May author or contribute to research, writing, and editing of manuscripts and development of other scientific materials. May attend and present at medical and scientific meetings and staff Medical Affairs booth. May interact with senior internal and external customers, including health care providers (HCPs) and researchers. * Evidence Knowledge: Acquire and maintain deep knowledge in published scientific evidence. Partner with internal functions to advance strategic use of best available evidence to support commercial product, meet business objectives, and support safe and effective use of Neuromodulation products and therapies. Educate/provide training to HCPs, Sales, and other personnel on key therapy evidence. * Product and Therapy Knowledge: * Acquire and maintain advanced knowledge of assigned products and therapies including device design and function, product labeling, indications, populations evaluated, diseases treated, mechanism of action, care pathways, safety profile, hazards, and harms. Business Acumen: * Acquire and maintain advanced knowledge of relevant policies/procedures, regulations, and guidelines related to Medical Affairs activities. Recognize and report adverse events or product complaints to the Complaint department in a timely manner. * Provide input to department strategy and understand business strategies. * Advanced understanding of organization, functional roles and interactions, and working across the matrix. Solid understanding of key business processes related to MA activities. * Recommend and lead opportunities to improve MA and MI practices. May lead other projects as assigned in part or entirety. Scientific Communication and Influence: * Collaborate and develop trusted relationships with key functions; drive and influence evidence-based scientific decision making across the matrix organization. * Advanced ability to competently interpret, synthesize, and effectively communicate scientific information to a variety of audiences. * Adaptable to changing priorities and work demands. Must Have; Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree in a biologic science with preference towards healthcare, medical, or scientific profession (e.g., nursing, medicine, epidemiology, pharmacology, biological science or other related medical/scientific field). * Minimum 4 years of professional experience in life science. * Experience writing materials on complex medical or scientific data/information. * Advanced ability to understand and apply practical medical/scientific and product knowledge in a competent and consistent manner for Medical Affairs activities. * Advanced ability to make competent, risk-based, and timely scientific decisions based on an insightful analysis of critical information; ability to balance analysis with decisiveness. * Advanced ability to research, interpret, and synthesize published medical/scientific literature and other scientific/technical data sources to meet information needs of intended audience. * Advanced knowledge of clinical trial design and evidence hierarchy. * Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and effectively influence diverse stakeholders (team members, functional partners, and HCPs). * Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills. * High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work independently; accountable for outcomes. * Proven ability to develop trusted relationship and collaborate with co-workers and functional partners in a matrixed organization. Nice to Have * Masters or PhD in Life Sciences, or Pharmacology, or related disciplines and 2+ years of professional experience. * Industry experience in a Life Science companies, in Safety, Medical Affairs, Drug Information, Clinical Research, Clinical Quality, Regulatory, Medical Science Liaison, or related discipline. * Work experience in neurological diseases, pain management, and infusion technology. * Experience in Medical Device industry. * Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. * Strong knowledge of industry standards as well as all applicable laws and regulations. * Experience writing medical publications. * Epidemiology/statistics education and application.
