Creates specifications for compliance testing for many different types of consumer packaged goods.
Creates specifications for finished good compliance.
Perform scientific, regulatory, and technical research on dietary supplements, cosmetics, food, and manufacturing processes.
Reviews scientific publications for information on new and existing ingredients.
Research and implement procedures based on various regulatory recommendations.
Must be able to handle multiple projects and switch between all at a moment's notice.
Must have a positive, professional attitude and demeanor, and assist in improving internal processes.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills.
Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a scientific or technical field from a four-year college or university.
Ability to read and interpret scientific and technical journals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to respond to common scientific and regulatory inquiries and to effectively present information to the department.
Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets.
Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Ability to calculate product and chemical compositions and percentages.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be detailed oriented.
