POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for the smooth operation of the front office activities of the clinic. These activities include:
Greeting patients and visitors, answering and routing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, taking messages, obtaining accurate demographic information from patients, documenting doctor referrals, copying medical records, sending and distributing faxes, paperwork related to FMLA, Disability CPX, as well as verifying the balance for the end of day deposit. The majority of work time is spent seated while communicating with patients/visitors in person and on the phone. The job also requires frequent standing and walking of short distances, some bending, stooping, and reaching in order to access files, and other office equipment/supplies. Other job duties may be required at the request of the Clinic Manager.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION The ability to operate standard office equipment and effectively communicate with customers, as usually demonstrated by completion of high school studies and a minimum of one year of office experience, is required. Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn moderate and/or advanced computer software.
