The Registration Counselor is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship. Providing friendly, rapid and accurate patient registration into the computer system upon arrival, as well as providing registration paperwork and plate to the patient care areas.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.

  • Obtain accurate information from patient/family in a pleasant, efficient manner and input into the computer system.

  • Verification of insurance information on all patient files containing insurance.

  • Recommend financial assistance and aid in completing financial statements and applications as needed for programs such as Charity, Medicaid, and other appropriate financial opportunities.

  • Bad debt screening.

  • Charity screening and qualifications.

  • Price estimates and quotes.

  • TOS collections to include co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to accurately type 45 words per minute.

  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills

  • Medical terminology desired.

  • Previous office experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize to maximum quality, value and service.

  • Preferred working knowledge of managed care payors and Medicare regulations.

  • Preferred experience working in multiple systems : STAR, MedPay, SCI, TRACE, OF, DDE, Multiple payor websites, etc.

  • American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required for associates working in hospital locations only.

We have schools throughout Brevard County in need of full-time (30-40 hours per week) Certified School Counselors and/or Licensed Mental Health Counselors (Registered Interns accepted) for the 2022-2023 school year. These positions are in-person and focus on individualized or small group counseling for diverse students in grades K-12. The ideal candidate will be able to service multiple grade levels and effectively provide students, staff, and parents with clinical, therapeutic, and specialized counseling services and mental health resources. Counseling may focus on academic, emotional, behavioral, or developmental issues to promote enhanced school functioning. * Provide support to families, classroom teachers, school principal and other school personnel to maximize effectiveness of services. * Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classrooms/learning stations. Climbing stairs and light lifting may be required. * Perform data entry in a timely fashion to meet deadlines (student attendance, progress reports, parent and classroom teacher communication forms, compliance documentation). * Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by company, local, state, and federal agencies. * Maintain consistent communication with company supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents. * Other duties as assigned.
