MRH Cardiopulmonary is looking for a full time day shift 6am-6:30pm respiratory therapist, some holidays and weekend required. Diagnostic experience, such as stress tests, full PFTs, cardiac monitors is preferred, but willing to teach if you are willing to learn.

We are a small friendly department that collaborates well with each other and our supporting healthcare colleges. We are fortunate to have many pieces of state of the art equipment to provide care to our respiratory and cardiac patients. MRH Cardiopulmonary department treats all age ranges from newborn to geriatric.

MRH is located in Craig, Colorado, just 45 miles west of Steamboat Springs, CO Ski Resort. Craig offers many opportunities for local outdoor recreation, camping, rafting, paddle boarding, kayaking, skiing/snowboarding, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, etc. Why sit in traffic driving to the mountains when you can live here?Position Purpose:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician, with emphasis in specialty areas (i.e., Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric and Critical Care), monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, and understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, understanding blood work results, monitoring, teaching, and training.Essential Functions and Basic DutiesPosition Specific Performance Expectations: Competent delivery of all Respiratory Care procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all Respiratory Care procedures per department policy and procedures.

Verify Respiratory Care physicians Initial, date, and time order after verification. Receive and give accurate and complete Update and complete patient information to reflect patient's current clinical status. Be prepared and ready to receive/give report at the specified report times.

Attend and participate in department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings. Keep Supervisor apprised of changes in workload and patient acuity. Enter into the department's computer all daily services and charges given to patients.

Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of Respiratory Care instruments and Perform troubleshooting with appropriate problem resolution. Perform effective airway management to include bag/mask ventilation. Assist physician with intubation.

Demonstrate safe and appropriate suction techniques and use of artificial airways. Assist in orientation/training of new employees, respiratory/nursing students, and precept new employees during Perform arterial blood gas draws. Initiate, maintain and monitor ventilator patients.

Interpret flow volumes and pressure volume curves to initiate appropriate clinical changes. Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements. Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.

Performs patient charge reconciliation. Responsible for verifying accuracy and timely submission of time for payroll preparation. Working knowledge of all cardiopulmonary equipment within training and education for RRT.

Proficiently performs all assigned modalities provided by cardiopulmonary services. Ability to translate medication into neonatal and pediatric doses uses proper equipment and procedure regarding patient size and any special needs regarding type and severity of disease. Ability to assess adult and geriatric patients for special needs uses proper equipment and procedure regarding patient age and needs regarding type and severity of disease.

Possess the ability to assess Adult, Pediatric and neonatal patients ventilator needs; can functionally provide mechanical ventilation of above patients under the direction of a qualified physician. Ability to fully assess patient respiratory status, make recommendations for appropriate therapeutic interventions and use assessment charting techniques to document status, progress and effect of therapeutics. Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes. Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.

Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors. Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time. Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions) Must be able to legally work in the United States Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable) Must complete employee health meeting meeting

Education/Licensure/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Must be a graduate of a COARC approved Respiratory Care Program with the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential according to guidelines set forth by the NBRC.

Must have current BLS certification or obtain it within 90 days of hire. Must have current NRP certifications or obtain them within 6 months of hire.Preferred Experience: RRT with at least one year experience, through knowledge and training in the areas of General Respiratory Care as well as Mechanical Ventilation. Pulmonary diagnostics preferred Cardiac Diagnostics (EKG, Holter monitor, Event Monitor Cardiac Stress Testing) preferred
