• Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patients and interact with physicians.

• Utilize RT driven protocols in all inpatient areas, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, inflation therapy, and pediatric therapies.

• Interact closely in a team environment with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians.

• Maintain professionalism, respect, and courtesy with interactions with patients, physicians, peers, and staff.

• Deliver therapies, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders.

• Provide patient education on respiratory therapies and treatments.

• Provide all respiratory treatments and modalities, including all inhaled medications, IPV, BiPAP/CPAP, NIV, IS, Ventilator Management and care, pulse oximetry, Oxygen therapy, Heliox therapy, EKGs, and bedside PFTs.

• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.

• Participate in shift report- reporting on all patients receiving respiratory therapy services.

• Initiate, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators.

• Educate patient and family members regarding care needed after discharge.

• Provide education to hospital staff relating to respiratory care for patients.

• Ensure optimum quality of care through ongoing education.

• Provides accurate timely documentation of respiratory care provided to patients.

• Adheres to safety departmental, and hospital policy and procedures. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care of service appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Annual influenza and COVID vaccines required.

• Certification/Licensure required for job: CRT and RCP, RRT Preferred.

• Must have current BLS, and obtain ACLS and NRP once hired.
