The Registered Respiratory Therapist is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team. The R.R.T. utilize his/her knowledge, judgement and skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate respiratory care for patients under his/her clinical practice.
This is a dual position where the Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for both sleep studies and acute care coverage on a rotating basis. The Registered Respiratory Therapist shall provide therapy that may include application and monitoring of medical gases, mechanical ventilator support, artificial airway placement and care, broncho pulmonary hygiene, pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation related and limited to respiratory care (additional job responsibility can include, E,K.G.s, P.F.T.s and ABGs) There may be required on-call coverage during hours that are not staffed by R.T. department.
Graduate of a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care and credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care required. Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of New York. Current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP required.
