The Employee Health Supervisor provides a variety of occupational health services to ensure that employees are functioning in optimal physical condition and are physically suited to perform the essential job functions. In addition the EH Supervisor is responsible for staff development, performance assessment of staff, scheduling and quality assurance in the EH dept. The employee health supervisor oversees and maintains the worker's compensation program, including modified duty, for the organization.
Shift: Full-time Monday - Friday 8a-5p
Location: Brooks inpatient hospital
Reviews post offer Medical Questionnaires and ensures post offer policy compliance.
Administers vaccine and annual health surveillance program per policy.
Maintains documentation required by OSHA, facility policy and other regulatory agencies.
Reviews employee's laboratory / X-Ray / TB screenings and refers abnormalities to physician for review.
Monitors cases in which a physician's follow-up is required to ensure that necessary consultation and treatment occur.
Researches and recommends reasonable accommodations in the working environment for employees suffering from handicaps which may impact performance.
Advises organization of current or prospective occupational health hazards and recommends plan of action to alleviate problem.
Monitors and documents workers' compensation disability claims.
Assesses treatment of minor medical problems for on-duty employees per policy/protocol.
Monitors workers' compensation absenteeism and assists in the acceleration of the employees return to work.
Coordinates health aspect and placement in the Modified Duty Program.
Provides the Adjuster with information on each case regarding workers' compensation.
Oversees maintenance and confidentiality of employees' health records and information.
Provides health and safety education in formal and informal settings for employees.
Serves as a member of the Safety and Infection Control Committees and submits statistical reports as required.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Remains current in the field of Occupational Health.
Delegate's responsibility for day to day clinical operations to EH staff based on skill and level of understanding.
Evaluates individual staff member's performance in a timely manner in accord with established criteria and set realistic goals.
Registered Nurse with a State of Florida license.
3 years medical/surgical experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
1 year Worker's Compensation and Occupational Health experience.
Certification in Occupational Health Prefer .
Ability to assess, plan, organize, and coordinate multiply functions.
Able to make sound judgments with appropriate and effective decisions.
Able to assess and analyze strategies and implement activities to maximize effectiveness.
