Outpatient Resource RN Opening This position exists to perform a variety of patient care services as directed by physicians or clinic manager.
Assures smooth patient flow, assists with examination procedures, collects patient information, point of care testing where applicable provides patient education and clerical support.
This position is expected to be flexible with hours and cross trained to all desks/offices.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity and operating knowledge of designated equipment and supplies.
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse or low- income populations.
Ability to provide patient education pertaining to a diagnosed illness; preparation for tests; patient care and diet; or related subject based on pre-established content.
The ability to work independently and assist with medical procedures.
Excellent customer service skills.
Current active Indiana state RN license required.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE.
Knowledge of various standard laboratory and medical procedures.
Ability to accurately collect patient information.
Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
Data entry and basic math skills.
