GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Performs under the direction of a physician or the RN and within the framework of the office policies and procedures for the Clinical Department.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Clinical Supervisor; Clinical Manager; Director of Clinical and Ancillary Services
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to bodily fluids.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited program. Licensure: Must be registered with NCBON and in good standing. One year of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred.

Performs general nursing care to patients.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
Dispenses medication as directed. Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
Maintains timely flow of patients.
Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.
Screens patients for appropriate information.
Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests. Arranges for patient testing and admissions.
Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
Maintains and reviews patient's records, charts, and other pertinent information.
Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials.
Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
Screens and refers pharmaceutical representatives.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Performs related work as required.
