The Iowa Veterans Home is a long-term care facility, located in Marshalltown, Iowa, with the mission of providing exceptional resident-centered care and the highest quality of life to Iowa's Veterans and spouses.

We are seeking to hire part time, weekend package Registered Nurses to care for our residents. If you are a caring and compassionate RN who is looking to join a great team please consider applying for one of our open positions.

As an RN at the Iowa Veterans Home you will be the leader of a direct care team. You will be responsible to complete all licensed treatments for 30 residents on a care unit. You will complete follow up on acute changes with residents. Within your scope of practice, you will assess/evaluate any changes in resident condition and take necessary steps including contacting physician, adjusting plan of care, and monitoring resident status. You will be expected to provide leadership and act as role model for the care team members including Resident Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, Medication Aides and LPNs.

• New hires must work every weekend with a total of 40 hours worked between Friday, Saturday, or Sunday over the 2 weekends in a pay period. Will be paid a lump-sum of $4,000, paid out over 26 pay periods. Lodging and meals are available upon request.

Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS's) new vaccine mandate for healthcare workers (published on November 5, 2021 and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court on January 13, 2022), all potential employees of this facility must have received, at a minimum, the first dose of a primary series or a single dose vaccine OR have an approved religious or medical exemption (as determined by the Iowa Veterans Home) OR have documentation reflecting a temporary delay in vaccination (as determined by the agency in accordance with CDC allowances), prior to the start date. Candidates shall coordinate with agency staff to ensure all requirements are met before the individual provides any care, treatment, or other services for the facility and/or its residents. Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
