Cadia Healthcare, Capitol, is located in Kent County, DE, minutes from Route 1 and 13, is a skilled nursing center with a dedicated Dementia unit!

Prior RN SUPERVISORY experience in a skilled nursing center required.

Excellent organizational, clinical and communication skills! Must be a team player

Must be able to participate in ON CALL Nurse Manager Rotation.


The Registered Nurse UNIT MANAGER Supervises the day-to-day nursing activities of the nursing unit in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. To ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. The Unit Manager is accountable for the 24 hour per day, 7 day per week nursing care provided on their assigned unit.



  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree form an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state

The incumbent will be responsible for the overall leadership and coordination of assigned unit. Key Responsibilities include: Supervise nursing staff on an assigned unit ensuring that quality patient care is provided in an effective and timely manner and the overall function of the unit is successful Leads shift report ensuring it is completed on time and within policy Assign duties and assignments on each shift and ensure staff are meeting expectations and all duties are successfully completed by the end of the shift Serve as a leader in treatment team meetings providing a nursing perspective to total case management of the patient with the interdisciplinary team including reporting to treatment time on time and prepared, proactively communicating outcomes to appropriate parties, and completing treatment plans Serves as a Patient Satisfaction Survey champion by updating staff on current scores, successes and areas of opportunity; ensures surveys are being completed by patients Manages the Milieu and upholds the integrity of the unit schedules ensuring patients and staff are engaged at all times Participates in Performance Improvement Projects on his/her prospective unit to enhance the quality of care provided to the patients served on their units Serve as a mentor and preceptor to newly hired nurses and other clinical staff; evaluate performance and competence delivering feedback to Nurse Management Handle escalated issues that occur on the unit and resolve the issues within compliance and in a timely fashion Ensures codes on assigned unit are conducted properly and safely Serve as a clinical resource to patients, families, visitors and staff in need of direction or information Act as a Service Excellence role model for fellow nursing staff and enforce policies and procedures including tardiness, meal breaks, dress code, Q15s, milieu management, etc. Deliver Continuing Education and In-services to current staff, as appropriate This opportunity provides the following: * UHS is Challenging and rewarding work environment Growth and development opportunities within UHS and its subsidiaries A Competitive Total Compensation Package Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plan 401k plan with company match and Stock Options Generous Paid Time Off and flexible scheduling Tuition Reimbursement Licensure and CEU Assistance, including onsite CEU trainings!
