Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator (Intensive Care Unit, Nights, 0.9) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington. In this position you will:
Coordinate patient care activities on the nursing unit, provide immediate clinical oversight of staff members.
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patients' care.
Serve as a role model for staff and assist staff in following established, best practice standards.
Foster a learning environment for patient/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team including students.
Actively participate in performance improvement activities within the unit and with other departments.
Lead and coordinate teams, appropriately delegate, coordinate care and collaborate with others as equal members of the inter-professional care team to integrate nursing knowledge.
Make appropriate patient care and unit assignments and delegate tasks according to staff competencies.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire
All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) must obtain a BSN or higher within 3 years of hire. RNs with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) of hire, and wherever care is delivered. If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire
The following certifications are required within 12 months of hire:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
Critical Care in Nursing certification (CCRN) within 3 years of of hire
12 months experience with like population of hiring unit and demonstrated leadership accomplishments
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completion of Critical Care coursework
Intensive Care Unit coursework
Basic arrhythmia course
