Registered Nurse- Triage

Join our Pediatric Cardiology Practice with this exciting opportunity as a Triage Nurse!

Responsibilities

• The Triage Nurse will be part of a care coordination team supporting general care processes alongside the providers.

• Manages nurse-directed patient telephone calls

• Evaluates and assesses patient's health care needs based on patient's signs and symptoms.

• Obtains appropriate input and direction from the provider as needed to determine the bestclinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient health care needs.

• Accurately documents in electronic health record (EHR), symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided, patient/caller response, and follow-up.

• Manage prescription refills per protocol.

• Coordinate Stat and follow-up appointments on the provider schedules with scheduling staff.

• Provide patient education: e.g., acute disease, symptom management. Must have knowledge of disease processes, normal growth and development of all age groups.

• Must operate with cultural sensitivity with respect to working with persons and groups of diverse racial, ethnic, economic and social backgrounds

• Perform other nursing duties as assigned by Nurse Manager.

• Initiate BLS measures on decompensated patients in clinic.

• Monitor patients requiring escalated care in clinic.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current/valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state that they are providing services.

• Maintain and possess a state RN license.

• Must maintain CPR certification.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
