TITLE: Registered Nurse Trainer
STATUS: Part-time, Non-exempt
LOCATION: Corporate Office, St. Paul Minnesota; individuals supported vary throughout Metro area
SCHEDULE: some weekends required
JOB SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Registered Nurse Trainer is to conduct medical training including but not limited to: Medication Administration, Overriding Medical Needs, Comprehensive Diabetic, etc. in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, current applicable federal, state, and local standard guidelines and regulations as directed by the Training & Development Manager or Executive Director. Other aspects of the role include oversight of medical Quality Assurance Services and a certified Qualified Professional (QP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Training and Development
Conduct training sessions covering specified medical topics
Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods
Coordinate training schedules based on hiring and training needs
Select or develop teaching aids such as presentations, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference guides
Test trainees in different methods to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training
Report on the progress of employees to the Training & Development team for tracking purposes
Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific medical tasks related to their positions
Develop strong relationships with employees and uphold standards that are in the best interest of the organization
Medical Quality Assurance Services
Process and submit medical reports to appropriate departments as applicable
Ensure ongoing compliance within areas of medical oversight of persons served
Review protocols, medical orders, annual physicals, and appointment schedules ensuring updates are completed and compliant for annual review of individuals served
Review protocols and medical orders of new intakes, confirming all information is entered into the system prior to service start date
Upholds 245D compliance and maintains licensing standards

Requirements
Only resumes that meet the required education and experience will be reviewed
Registered Nurse (RN) with active state licensure
Must meet 245D statute standards of a Registered Nurse Trainer
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), experience with database-related applications, and the ability to learn and become proficient with various company applications
Experience training a diverse group of individuals
Experience writing and maintaining 245D program forms and plans
Position Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Ability to maintain good employee relations and morale
Ability to follow daily routines while allowing for flexibility and planning creative alternatives
Must be able to prioritize duties, have organizational skills, and meet deadline
Working Conditions
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and personal vehicle and maintain necessary insurance coverage
Required to work from the office or meet service recipients in the community regularly
Is subject to frequent situations involving problem-solving
Have regular contact with staff, service recipients, family members, and stakeholders
Sit, stand, walk, bend, and move intermittently during working hours
Lifting/transferring requirements vary based on assigned caseload?
Ability to master the use of all physical intervention and assistance techniques necessary to meet the needs of the assigned individual served
Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
