Registered Nurse (Flex)

Develops a patient data base through interview, physical assessment, and psychosocial assessment. Plans and provides patient care which is correlated with the medical plan of care and is appropriate to the patient#s age, developmental maturity, and functional status. Plans and provides sensitive, compassionate care to patients and families. Prioritizes care for patients. Administers medications in accordance with protocols and procedures. Performs treatments in accordance with protocols and procedures. Instructs patients and families appropriately. Provides discharge instructions to patients/families, including medications, medical devices, and follow-up care needs. Maintains emergency equipment and supplies which are located on the nursing department. Evaluates patient status through ongoing assessment, and reports significant symptoms, reactions, or changes of status to the appropriate person. Communicates appropriate information to peers, ancillary staff, and physicians. Documents plan of care and care provided in accordance with protocols and procedures. Implements physicians# orders through appropriate clerical processing and direct implementation.
