The Department is looking for individuals who are creative, energetic, and compassionate to provide essential nursing and treatment services to our individuals.

You will be responsible and accountable for the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of treatment for assigned individuals. You will direct professional and non-professional staff in the provision of health and related services. You will plan and organize work to assure comprehensive nursing services are provided to persons residing in assigned area. You will be responsible for assuring all nursing services within assigned area comply with policies/procedures, rules/regulations/laws, and standards associated with nursing services, which include but are not limited to Standards of Nursing Practice Licensure requirements for Pennsylvania Nursing, Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded standards, and Department of Human Services Office of Developmental Programs directives associated with the Nursing Services discipline.

  • 1st shift (6:45am-3:15pm)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
    Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth class title); ORfour years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
  • NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a current license to practice as a registered nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; or possession of a non-renewable temporary practice permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

  • NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Employees possessing non-renewable temporary practice permits must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

  • PA residency currently waived for this title.

We are seeking supervisors who are willing to roll up their sleeves and actively engage in working directly with the people you supervise. You will develop effective relationships with staff and court-adjudicated youth to help address personal problems, provide positive reinforcement to instill proper attitudes and responsible behaviors, respond well in controversial situations, and hold others and their self accountable for actions. This position involves a willingness to work with a diverse population along with a driving desire to make a difference in the lives of youth.You will actively supervise employees involved in providing guidance, instruction, treatment, and specialized services to court-adjudicated youth in a secure or restricted setting; assign tasks to staff and ensure timely completion of reports; participate with staff in providing for the physical care, custody, and supervision of the youths' daily activities that include recreation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, work assignments, and program requirements; assist professional staff in implementing treatment plans and reporting youths' progress in attaining goals; communicate with youth about their thought processes, actions, and personal problems to provide insight into responsible behaviors and attitudes; maintain order by verbally and physically intervening with disruptive, emotionally improper, and suicidal youth; use appropriate physical restraint techniques to prevent escapes, control aggressiveness, and maintain a safe, secure or restricted environment is required.
