POSITION SUMMARY: In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the Nursing Supervisor supports the management of a defined patient care area to provide a climate optimal for the provision of individualized, goal directed nursing care that supports the mission, vision, values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Nursing Department and promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff's primary commitment to protect the health, safety, and rights of the individual, family or community.
The Nursing Supervisor is accountable for their practice and care coordination. The Nursing Supervisor is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices.
Medical City Plano is a full-service, 497-bed acute-care facility with more than 1600 employees and over 1000 physicians on staff, representing over 70 specialties and sub-specialties. Graduate of a ProfessionalSchool of Nursing, BSN required. Nursing Supervisors hired after July 1, 2011 must have a BSN. MSNpreferred.
Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted, National SpecialtyCertification in practice area or plan to achieve within one year of hire.
2 years hospital nursing experience in area of clinical specialty
Special Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to listen, interact andcommunicate verbally and in writing.
Previouslydemonstrated management potential preferred
