Registered Nurse, Urgent Care Salem, PRN

Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse is expected to assist in providing total care of the patient before, during and after urgent care treatment. He/she provides physical, emotional, spiritual and cultural support while providing necessary equipment and supplies for all urgent care procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Incorporates assessment and intervention skills in all interactions and delivery of nursing care

  • Is able to process information quickly and correctly to develop appropriate plan of care

  • Reports pertinent information concisely

  • Completes accurate, timely documentation, appropriately using computer charting/ordering

  • Applies critical thinking skills and considers alternatives

  • Organizes and prioritizes multi-task workload

  • Collects and integrates data from multiple sources

  • Organizes and delivers care for multiple patient assignment

  • Applies leadership skills to delegate and assign care, coordinates care within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Assesses health literacy and incorporates teaching with a focus on health promotion

  • Advocates for patient and provides ethical, legal care

  • Is proficient in triaging according to the Emergency Nursing Association triage category systems

  • Demonstrates department specific skills and competencies, including high-risk, low-volume and problem-prone competencies

  • Perform Point of Care testing to include CBC testing, iStat testing and waived testing as needed

  • Attendance, works as scheduled

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree preferred
  • ASN

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-3 years of RN experience, preferably in acute setting

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • NH RN license or valid RN Compact State License

  • BLS

  • ACLS within 6 months of hire

  • ENPC and/or PALS within preferred

  • Basic dysrhythmia training preferred

  • HCA will pay for certification renewals once employed

Registered Nurse (RN) / Intensive Care Unit (ICU) The ICU nurse will care for seriously and critically ill patients. This includes providing physical, emotional, spiritual and cultural support to the patient. He/she will provide continuous observation and frequent measurements of relevant indicators of clinical conditions and outcomes. The ICU nurse maintains competencies in hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, ventilator management and other evolving technologies as they are developed. He/she will always recognize and be cognizant of the impact that a serious illness projects upon a patient and their family.
