Fairview Health Services is looking for an OR RN at Maple Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Maple Grove, MN. This is a casual position, meaning all hours are as needed; needed hours will be day shifts with variable start times. The Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently open Monday- Friday between the hours of 0700am and 400pm.
Fairview Maple Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center is a partnership with University of MN Physicians where you will find more than 20 medical specialties in one convenient location. Our patients have access specialty care for pediatrics and adults which also includes a cancer center, breast center and the ambulatory surgery center. We are proud to be one of the few centers that have earned the distinction of a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence in Minnesota.
About This Position:
4 Operating Rooms and 4 Endoscopic Procedure rooms
Primary service areas include ENT, Plastics and Reconstruction, Pediatrics, GYN, Ortho, Urology, Ophthalmology, and General surgery.
Responsibilities/Job Description
The primary function of the Registered Nurse is that of a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability through the nursing process, for the care of the patient(s) and significant others in collaboration with other health care specialists.
Coordinates care for patients and their support network in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team across the continuum of care.
Synthesizes assessment data and diagnosis. Plans interventions and encouraged outcomes to provide patient(s) vital information.
Assists the patient in coordinating appointments and provides education for patients.
Coordinates multidisciplinary team conferences.
Communicates with referring health care providers regarding comprehensive plan of care
Assesses learning needs of patient, their family, and health care team and crafts, implements and evaluates multidisciplinary educational plan.
Applies current research, scientific literature, and advanced practice knowledge when providing information for patients, families, community, and staff.
Works closely with physicians and provides consultation to influence the over all care plan for the patients, family, community, and program areas.
Serves as expert resource to patient, family, and staff.
Assists patients to navigate through the program and services/procedures needed during diagnostic workup and course of treatment.
Serves as Program Liaison to community through a variety of communication sources.
Qualifications
Required
1 year of OR registered nurse experience
Current Minnesota Registered Nurse License
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred
