We Are Hiring:
Registered Nurse (RN) opening in Surgical ICU at Ascension St Vincent's Birmingham (downtown Birmingham, AL location).
This position is full time, Day Shift (3-12hr shifts 7am-7pm)
What you will do:
As an Associate with St. Vincent's Health System-AL, you will have the opportunity to provide direct nursing care to diverse population. We care for adult patients 18 years or older.
This ICU has 14 beds. The staff consist of a Unit Manager, Patient Care Supervisor, Registered Nurses and Unit Secretaries. Unless there is a weekend vacancy you don't work weekend shifts!
Unique to our unit is that we treat a variety of cases. Neuro-surgical, Surgical, Medical-surgical overflow, Cardiovascular overflow and Women's care overflow. The nurse to patient ratio is 2-1.
What You Will Do:
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
One or more of the following required:
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Month (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
No additional preferences.
