Objective
The primary objective of this position is to promote the physical and mental health of residents by applying nursing processes. This position coordinates and monitors medical services, including medication, in accordance with physician orders. Coordinates with the Health and Wellness Administrator and is responsible for ensuring overall operations of health assessment, health monitoring, and personal care programs of the facility. This includes the management of the personal care staff and the oversight of the provision of quality resident care in accordance with established PeaceCare policies and procedures.
Essential Functions

Facilitates and assures delivery of prescribed and over the counter medications in accordance with approved nursing techniques and practices.
Communicates with residents' physicians for health care orders, the Health and Wellness Administrator as well as the PeaceCare supervisor regarding resident support services.
Evaluates quality of care to residents, performs resident assessments and documents health problem to develop plan of care.
Assists Residents with medical services such as the taking of temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight and height measurements, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and to assess condition of resident when required.
Explains procedures and services to residents to gain cooperation and understanding and alleviate apprehension when necessary.
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents.
Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies the Health and Wellness Administrator and PeaceCare Supervisor of the resident's condition and/or reaction to drugs, services and significant incidents.
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and PeaceCare protocol.
Documents and follows up on emergency and non-emergency Incident Reports.
Ensures outstanding customer service in accordance with the mission of Peace Village.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or school of nursing.
Maintains a current state license as a professional Registered Nurse (RN).
Minimum of 3 years related experience required, preferably working in a retirement living community.
A current CPR Certification is required.
