Terre Haute RegionalHospital (THRH) hasan immediate need to fill a PRN Occupational Medicine RN position.The standard shift is 7:30a-5p with availability to float to the hospital

Occupational Medicine Department and to various clinic locations. Looking forcandidates that can work a minimum of 20 hours per pay period based uponneed. Acute care and/or previous Occupational Medicine/EmployeeHealth nurse experience preferred.

Terre Haute RegionalHospital (THRH) isa 278-bed Level II Trauma Center. Regional is the only full-service hospital inthe area accredited by The Join Commission and has provided quality care forthe local community for 135 years.

Level-II Trauma Center to the Wabash Valley region - the highest level of careavailable in a 75-mile radius. Plus we also offer cardiovascular services,including open-heart and cardiac catheterization; oncology services, whichinclude radiation therapy and outpatient infusion' labor and delivery,including a neonatal intensive care unit; inpatient mental health unit; andother specialized care areas, including intensive care and inpatientrehabilitation units. Positionresponsibilities:

  • Must multitask in an effort to meet the needs of the clinic and the patients/customers it serves

  • Answers the phone and triage calls. Screens calls and handles all that do not require the Director's involvement

  • Schedules and/or reschedules appointments for clinic patients

  • Attends appointments for workers compensation patients and submits feedback to clients and carriers on a timely basis

  • Works as liaison between clients and carriers and other parties involved

  • Maintains files for correspondence and reports as needed

  • Registers patients into computer system

  • Type business profiles and distributes to appropriate departments

  • Ensures that office is well maintained with equipment and office supplies

  • Assists with tracking injured workers through the system

  • Tour business and industry sites as dictated by department manager

  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate departments, physicians or other health care providers notify director when referral does not utilize THRH as a provider

  • Acts as a liaison among hospital departments and physicians with workers' compensation clients

  • Performs chain of custody urine collections for all types of drug screening

  • Performs chain of custody BAT

  • Performs hearing exams

  • Performs pulmonary function testing

  • Performs blood draws, vision screenings, vital signs, urinalysis dips

  • Serves as backup for employee health nurse, and assists when necessary

  • Appropriately handles billing questions and works to a desirable resolution while maintaining exceptional customer service

  • Proficient in the occupational medicine specific software system

  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director, or as dictated by business necessity in an ever changing environment

  • Serves on hospital committees as required

  • Attends mandatory in-services

Essentialeducational/licensure, skills and experience:

  • RN License in the State of Indiana

  • Certification: BLS must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital

  • Strong computer skills with ability to design, format, and prepare reports

  • Public speaking skills

  • Experience with statistics and data analysis Above average communication skills in all forms

  • Ability to multi-task with prioritizing and meeting deadline

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining composure
