Registered Nurse (Rn) - Nights (24 Hours Per Week)

Registered Nurse (RN) (24 hours nights ) Charles River Recovery is growing, recently added 30 new patient beds to our 2023 census, as we provide the highest quality substance use treatment services, directed by evolving physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients, delivered in an environment that fosters well-being and compassionate care, driven by the continuous pursuit of improvement. Positions include part-time (24 hours) and per diem Registered Nurses render professional nursing care to patients with behavioral healthcare needs. Performs total patient care assigned.

Works with clinical and case management staff to coordinate care and assist with treatment plans. Administers prescribed medications. Maintains patients’ medical records on nursing observations.

May assist physician during treatment and examination of patient. Specific Responsibilities: Conducts intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.

Plans and provides nursing care for patients. Makes nursing diagnosis of the medical status of patients and recommends treatment options. Consults with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients.

Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications. Arranges further medical attention when necessary. Assists the client in understanding the nature of the disease of addiction and the need for treatment.

Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients Tests for vital signs of pain and ensures treatment of pain. Documents all patient information on medical charts and follows physician’s written orders. Maintains patient confidentiality.

Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping. Provides courteous, high quality service to patients and members of the public by responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals in a timely manner. Charge RN responsibilities:

Make the assignment sheets for the shift and communicate it to staff (including staff assignment and breaks) Has full responsibility for the overall community management ensuring a safe and efficient shift flow During his/her shift holds staff accountable to their assignments and provides feedback and mentoring as needed Accepts call out notifications from staff and follows all necessary actions/steps to find coverage and ensure unit is adequately staffed for the shift Acts as the centralized person to report on a patient's progress and/or special circumstances and concerns to the doctor or the AOC as needed Serves as the main contact/ supervisor for employees /emergencies in the facility (RN charge) Meets with management to discuss personnel and administrative issues and address and solve problems among staff. Informs staff of changes in protocols and procedures Has the ability to prioritize and adapt during emergencies Education and Experience: Up to date and active State Nursing license is required Bachelor's or Associates degree in Nursing is preferred Previous experience in behavioral healthcare is strongly preferred Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM criteria and terminology.

Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; thorough knowledge of facility proprietary systems.
