The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Knowledge, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration
Current licensure California RN or Interim Permitee; BLS -Health Care Provider.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BS preferred.
Acute care experience preferred
Experience in area of clinical specialty preferred
Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills.
Aware of adult learning principles in providing teaching of patients and their significant others. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred in specialty areas. Knowledge of nursing proces in the assessment of physical and psychological needs of patients and their significant others.
Independently practices and prioritizes multiple demands in an ever-changing environment. Good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and teamwork skills are required.
Department Specific Requirements:
CICU and ICU:
ACLS upon hire or within 6 months of start date and must be maintained.
A minimum of one year recent critical care experience preferred
