Terre Haute Regional Hospital (THRH) is a 278-bed Level II Trauma Center. Regional is the only full-service hospital in the area accredited by The Join Commission and has provided quality care for the local community for 135 years. We offer cardiovascular services, including open-heart and cardiac catheterization; oncology services, which include radiation therapy and outpatient infusion' labor and delivery, including a neonatal intensive care unit; inpatient mental health unit; and other specialized care areas, including intensive care and inpatient rehabilitation units. What will you be doing?
Performs maternal assessments and provides appropriate interventions for patients who range in age from menses to menopause.
Performs fetal assessments and provides appropriate interventions.
Uses appropriate interventions for OB pain management.
Monitors OB anesthesia/analgesia and provides appropriate interventions.
Responds to acute changes in unit and patient conditions.
Demonstrates support of Lactation Services.
Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others.
Performs Labor and Delivery surgical procedures.
Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure by the Indiana State Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Must have current BLS certification
ACLS and NRP certification within six months of hire
AWHONN fetal monitoring certification within one year of hire.
Have a basic knowledge of JCAHO, CMS and ISBH standards, rules and regulations.
Have a basic knowledge of "performance improvements" concepts and unit activities.
