Registered Nurse (Rn) Labor And Delivery

Inova Health is looking for dedicated Night Shift, Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses (RN) to join the team at: _Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital, __and _Inova Alexandria Hospital _The Labor and Delivery unit at __Inova Fair Oaks Hospital _located in Fairfax, Virginia has recently undergone a beautiful renovation. Our unit consists of thirteen private labor and delivery rooms, an eight-bed triage/PACU area, and three operating rooms.

The types of patients range from low risk deliveries to high-risk patients with pre-existing multisystem medical and obstetrical problems. The usual staffing assignment consists of 1 RN for 2 laboring patients and change to 1 nurse to 1 patient based on acuity and phase of labor. News & World Report. _Inova Alexandria Hospital _Labor and Delivery is a 13-bed unit, complimented by 3 operating suites, 4 PACU beds, and 4 Clinical Decision beds. Approximately, 3,600 deliveries take place each year, including deliveries for high-risk obstetric patients. In our Clinical Decision Unit (Labor and Delivery Triage), we can care for as many as 450 patients a month.

The L&D Unit delivers approximately 10 to 15 babies each day.Nurse to Patient Ratios:2:1 during early stages of labor1:1 once patient is active and begins pushing1:1 for all C-sections, epidural placements, TOLAC and fetal demises.1:1 or up to 3:1 for antepartum patients, depending on level of acuity. _The Labor and Delivery Unit is located within the Inova Women’s Hospital at on the __Inova Fairfax Medical Campus _in Falls Church, Virginia. Our unit has 33 L&D beds and 6 C-Section ORs. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:2.

Work schedule: Full Time, Night shift 3 x 12's Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing.

If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date. Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting. 1 full year or more of Labor and Delivery experience is strongly preferred. Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
