Job Summary:

• Monitors hospital for possible infection outbreak

• Implements and maintains plans and procedures concerning control measures as set forth by the infection control committee

• Identifies and initiates isolation protocols and informs the appropriate state and county organizations of any reportable diseases

• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

• Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision

• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required

• Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse

• Must have a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas

• 1-3 years nursing experience required

• Previous infection control experience preferred

• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
