Registered Nurse (Rn) Emergency Department

The Indian Health Service, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, is responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The provision of health services to members of federally-recognized tribes grew out of the special government-to-government relationship between the federal government and Indian tribes. This relationship, established in 1787, is based on Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, and has been given form and substance by numerous treaties, laws, Supreme Court decisions, and Executive Orders. The IHS is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for Indian people, and its goal is to raise their health status to the highest possible level. The IHS provides a comprehensive health service delivery system for American Indians and Alaska Natives.

HCRS, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse, Emergency Department who will provide hands on direct patient care, assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Emergency Department Nurse is a registered nurse who work as part of a team to provide care for patients with various forms of illness, trauma, and life-threatening conditions that require immediate, emergency attention. They work with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to administer medicine, perform medical operations, clean and bandage wounds, manage life support needs, and provide basic bedside care.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department

Tasks and Responsibilities will include the following but not limited to:

• Screening of patients;
• Collecting COVID specimen;
• Supporting COVID vaccine clinics;
• Supporting efforts to identify and isolate COVID patients;
• Providing necessary services in support of the Agencys effort to be in compliance with all applicable CLIA, CMS, and accrediting body regulations; and/or
• Providing direct patient care services at the IHS Emergency Department, Inpatient/Outpatient Department, Car Clinics, Public Health Nursing Program field, and/or other IHS Healthcare Service locations.

Minimum Qualifications/ Experience Requirement:

• Experience and RN licensing per state requirements

Preferred Qualifications/ Experi
ence Requirement:

• Qualified candidates who are local to the community or reservation;
• Candidates who can provide onsite support;
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric, and/or Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications; and/or
• Experience in Public Health/Community Health, Behavioral Health, and Substance Abuse
