Position: The Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department

Shift: Nights (rotating weekends)

Generous Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Bonus available for experienced nurse

Position Details:

  • Emergency Department oversees and directs the care of all patients presented to the Emergency Department.

  • The Emergency Department Registered Nurse serves as the primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • The Emergency Room RN oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.

  • Within the first year the RN will have gained basic emergency and emergency department pathways, knowledge, and skill sets.

  • When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Must have a current Colorado Registered Nurse License (may work on a current RN compact license for the first 180 days of employment).

  • Current BLS, ACLS certifications through American Heart Association, TNCC or TNS, and ENPC or PALS through American Heart Association required at time of hire.

Education:

  • Graduate of a certified School of Nursing.

Experience:

  • Able to articulate and demonstrate appropriate nursing theory and practice. Experience
  • requirements are specific to positions and departments as appropriate. Minimum of 1 year Critical Care or Emergency Department experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.

  • Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Values & Standards of Nursing Practice at SMC.

  • Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills.

  • Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
