Unit Description

The Emergency Department consists of a 24-bed, multi-specialty unit, 4-bed Quick Care area and 8 overflow beds for minor injuries and illnesses. Our admission rate is 18% of all the ED visits: pulmonary and cardiac illnesses being the most frequent diagnoses.

Bedside registration is a feature that proves to increase efficiencies and patient satisfaction in the ED. With bedside registration, patients are no longer brought to a registration area from triage, but rather brought directly to an examination room.

Our staff consists of physicians, RN's, and technicians. Approximately half of our techs are paramedics.
