Position Summary
The RN is responsible for measuring/recording patients' vital signs, updating medical records, preparing patients for examinations, tests and treatments, obtaining consents and explaining procedures, collecting blood, urine & sputum samples and performing CLIA-waived laboratory testing, assisting physician with in-office procedures, administering injectable medications/vaccines, performing services (such as: EKG, oxygen treatments, wound care treatment, splinting/casting, ear irrigation, suture removals, patient education, etc.), as well as preauthorizing services with insurance companies, arranging and scheduling referrals to other providers/facilities while coordinating with insurance requirements if applicable, and maintaining various medical logs according to policy/procedures set forth within the clinic, inventorying and requisitioning supplies and instruments, cleaning and sterilizing instruments using germicides, sterilizers or autoclave, setting-up equipment and preparing medical treatment rooms. May also make appointments, keep records and perform other clerical duties in clinic, communicate care needs/services with the patient and/or their representative, answer patients' calls and determine how to assist them, upon physician orders refill prescriptions via electronic, fax, or phone, conferring with other health-care team members as necessary, work as part of a health care team to assess patients needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions. This position must be able to prioritize clinic/patients needs and assist in other areas as requested. This position works independently and has exposure to communicable disease and body fluids. This position spends the majority of time standing (up to 60% of work time) with frequent walking of short distances (up to 20% of work times.)

Unencumbered RN License & CPR
Specific Educational & Skill Competencies Required
Must hold a valid Arkansas Nursing License and have a minimum of 2 years clinic based experience, preferably family practice. This position must have effective communication skills with patients, co-workers, supervisor and physicians. This person must have good problem solving skills and utilize professional knowledge in this process. Must have computer skills and be comfortable with an EMR.
