What will you be doing?

The Critical Care Flex RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Primary location of ICU, secondary location of IMC, and then any medical unit if not utilized on ICU or IMC. This includes continuous observation and frequent measurements of relevant indicators of clinical conditions and outcomes. Nurses will provide direct access to patients for major procedures and therapies, including resuscitation.

Licensure/Certification

  • RN License in the State of Indiana.

  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training completion within 1 year of hire and maintenance of certification.

  • CCRN or TNCC certifications preferred.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN preferred.

Experience

  • Two years' experience in acute hospital critical care required.

What will you be doing? The Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care (ICU), provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of seriously and critically ill patients, in support of HCA ethical principles and values. This includes continuous observation and frequent measurements of relevant indicators of clinical conditions and outcomes. Nurses will provide direct access to patients for major procedures and therapies, including resuscitation. Position responsibilities: * Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs. * Carries out physician orders. * Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs. * Provides respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients. * Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. * Instructs and educates patients and families. * Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. * Orients and mentors new staff members.
