As a(n) Registered Nurse you will:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care and treatment for clients that are experiencing significant mental health/psychiatric symptoms, who are demonstrating significant functional impairments, and who may have co-occurring substance abuse and/or personality disorder.

  • Attends and actively participates in weekly team meetings

  • Provides rehabilitation and coordinates medical needs for clients

  • Medication Monitoring and Administration by oral medication or needle injections

  • Medication training for staff

  • Orders, reviews, monitors, and discontinues medications as ordered by the physician

  • Assists with keeping within assigned nursing budget

  • Conducts assessments

  • Approves plan of care and service delivery methods

  • Performs competency and skills evaluations on employees who provide direct care

  • Informs the physician and staff of changes in the client's medical or mental condition and needs

  • Coordinates psychiatric information with the psychiatric rehabilitation practitioners

  • Writes progress notes, summaries, and discharges

  • Group and Individual Counseling

  • Case Management

  • Implements the treatment/rehabilitative activities and strategies

  • Crisis Prevention

  • Reports significant/major incidents or accidents

  • Provides and arranges necessary medical services to ensure consumer health and safety

  • Follows consumer health plans

  • Provides and promotes consumer choice and facilitate independence

  • Assists with ensuring compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirement

  • Performs other duties designed to improve employee effectiveness as a member of the team

  • Promotes/encourages community integration and choice making

Position Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age

  • Holds a bachelor's degree in nursing or related health and human services field from an accredited college or university with at least 2,000 hours of experience with adult persons who have a serious psychiatric disability

  • OR holds an RN from an accredited two-year program and has more than 6,000 hours of experience with adult persons who have a serious psychiatric disability

  • Valid driver's license and insurance required

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

  • Experience in managing systems, processes, and people

  • Operate general office equipment

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Capable of working responsibly with high confidential information

  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team

HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program! Responsibilities * Manages the nutritional care program in multiple-site programs according to policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements. * The registered dietitian has administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out assigned duties. * Responsibilities include planning, organizing, developing, and directing the nutritional care of the resident in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility. * Works effectively with others to ensure that quality nutritional services are being provided on a daily basis, and acts as a resource to the Director of Dining Services so that the food services department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. * Although this is not a supervisory function, the RD has the authority to train employees as to proper techniques, etc. as they see fit. * The Dietitian consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA. Qualifications * Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university. * Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensed in Nutrition/Dietetics as required by the applicable state. * Must have, as a minimum, 1-3 year(s) of dietary experience in long-term care either as a consultant or in a supervisory capacity. * Must maintain a valid driver's license. * Must be able to relate information concerning the resident's condition. * Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance. * Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods. * Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required. * Written and oral communication skills. * Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public. * Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in the nursing facility. * Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and provide guidance to other personnel. * Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Food Services Department. * Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of food service areas; must perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties. * Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food service practices. * Must be able to read and interpret food service cost reports, financial data, etc. Additional Requirements: * Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 10 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 10 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time. * Must be able to work around food and cleaning products. * Must live in service area.
