We have exciting nursing opportunities in our IU Health Jay Hospital. Our hospital specializes in life-threatening, emergent, and non-emergent conditions.
Medical-surgical nurses are registered nurses at IU Health Jay will provide care for primarily adult patients before and after surgical procedures. They coordinate healthcare plans with medical professionals, administer medications, and educate patients on surgical procedures.

Medical-Surgical RNs at IU Health Jay. Will provide, coordinate, and document medical care throughout a patient's stay at a facility. Specific responsibilities depend on the healthcare setting and the ailment in question, but some common Medical-Surgical RN job duties are:
Admitting and assessing patients
Administering medications and treatments
Monitoring vital signs and symptoms
Operating and tracking medical equipment
Running and ordering tests
Coordinating care with Physicians and Specialists
Charting patient progress
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse. • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
