IU North Labor and Delivery consists of 5 OB ED beds, 12 L&D rooms, 2 OR suites, and 3 PACU bays. We are a level 3 LDR and see many high-risk patients. Our unit staffs an anesthesiologist and OB laborist on-site 24/7. Our patients are with us during their pregnancy, labor and delivery, and through the initial recovery period.
Nursing skills gained on this unit:
Circulating in OB procedures in the OB OR
Triage of OB patients
Managing each phase of the pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum process
Collaborative work with physicians

Available Shifts:
Qualifications
Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
