Job Posting Summary

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Trauma Registrar team at Wolfson. This is a part time day shift position. Wolfson Children's Hospital is the only full-service tertiary hospital for children in the region, serving North Florida, South Georgia and it is the only ACS-verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the region. As a Pediatric Trauma Registrar you will be responsible for:

• Accurately abstracts, enters, and codes (AIS, ICD-10, ISS, and E-codes) case information into the trauma registry for children meeting inclusion criteria within 14 days of admission.

• Runs detailed reports from the trauma registry for scheduled and unscheduled data needs.

• Identifies Performance Improvement indicators and discusses deficits with Trauma PI Coordinator and Trauma Program manager.

• Supports PI efforts using DMAIC and other standardized tools to evaluate outcomes to improve quality of care.

• Participates in the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines necessary to provide quality patient care.

• Interacts with mandatory benchmarking agencies, Florida Department of Health (DOH) and American College of Surgeons (ACS) Pediatric Trauma Quality Improvement Program and compares desired outcomes with national and state standards communicating findings to key stakeholders.

• Assists with data input for a quality scorecard reported monthly at Trauma meetings.

• Develops partnerships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and other members of the health care team to address clinical care, system, and documentation issues and develop a plan of action.

• Works with Trauma Medical Director, Trauma Program Manager, and Trauma PI Coordinator in ensuring quality data metrics are maintained in accordance with the American College of Surgeons and Florida Department of Health standards.
