Who we are: a cohesive, interdisciplinary team working collaboratively in our 24-bay post-anesthesia care unit within an academic facility focusing on patient-centered care. Our team of highly trained nurses and academic physicians recover cutting edge surgeries which are unique to Emory University Hospital within the Metro Atlanta area.

Description
We are seeking a Registered Nurse, PACU resposible for being a capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a surgical patient population. Using acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations, this RN is able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family. Our RN, PACU will:
Serve as a resource to lesser experienced nurses and to support staff.
Under general supervision, demonstrates a thorough knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, clinical pathways/care maps, team dynamics, and hospital systems.
Prioritize nursing interventions for assigned group of patients and identify complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, abnormal diagnostic data and learning needs.
Ensure continuity of care, coordinate diagnostic procedures, anticipate potential patient crises through continual evaluation of patient outcomes.
Serve as a resource for other registered nurses and support staff.
Thoroughly documents all aspects of patient care, following established charting procedures. We use Epic charting.
Participates in unit orientation of new staff and may serve as a preceptor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 24 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years.
Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
BLS certification required and ACLS may be required in designated departments
