Under general supervision, responsible for the total nursing needs of residents, while actively incorporating our "Philosophy for Person-Directed Care." Ensures a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors to participate in the resident's daily life rhythm. Performs comprehensive nursing evaluations and assessments. Initiates plan of care as needed and appropriately supervises resident care. Follows the approved plan of care, modifies as needed, and contacts physician when appropriate. Develops assignments in coordination with the care partners and keeps each team member accountable for resident care and satisfaction. Duties and assignments may be adjusted at the discretion of the Director of Nursing Services and/or designee.

  • Completion of Accredited Licensed Nursing Program (RN), BS Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and related professional experience.
  • Experience/Training
  • Senior Care or Rehabilitation experience preferred. Clinical observation and assessment skills. Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records and communicate with team members.

The Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Southern Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada is recruiting for Registered Nurse 4 positions. The Southern Nevada State Veterans Home is a 24-hour skilled nursing care facility which accommodates 180 residents. The Registered Nurse 4 is responsible for the management of a nursing unit to include resident care and personnel management. These positions manage the required documentation and assessment of each resident; provide leadership by organizing and assigning work duties to team members including licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants; provide education; respond to assessments; develop and modify resident care plans and provide timely input and updates to MDS Coordinator; and communicate pertinent information about residents to appropriate individuals. Incumbents assist with ensuring and monitoring adequate staff levels and perform duties of House Supervisor when assigned. Incumbents may be required to work shift work and overtime.
