Description:

Reporting the Director the Women Services, you will be facilitating exceptional care for the patients we serve in our 14-Bed. Some notable information about the unit:

  • Skill mix: Registered Nurse, Patient Care Associates, Unit Secretary

  • Obstetrics/ Mother Baby hosts a variety of patient acuities/diagnosis including: Labor, C-Section Delivery

  • Schedules: 12-hour shifts (0700-1930, 1900-0730); Full time is considered 36 hours per week, including every other weekend. Self-scheduling is available.

  • Dress code: Professional Scrubs (individual provides their own). Pewter with baby steps logo

  • Major equipment used: IV Pumps, Breast Pumps

Requirements:

  • Associates in Science in Nursing, Bachelors preferred

  • Current License Required: FL RN Licensure, or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)

  • Current certification as a BLS/CPR provider through the American Heart Association required

  • Current ALCS Certification.

  • Completion of NRP within 180 days of hire

  • Completion of STABLE within 180 days of hire

  • Current experience in Obstetrics, Post-Partum or Mother-Baby in acute hospital setting

Job Description: The CV Stepdown RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include: Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs. Carries out physician orders. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs. Provides respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Instructs and educates patients and families. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requirements: Must have at least 2-3 years experience as a CV Stepdown RN Charge Nurse experience preferred in CVPCU Current FL licensure as RN. Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider Current certification as a ACLS Healthcare Provider Current certification as a PALS Healthcare Provider Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds. HCA Margate FL
