We have delivered over 20,000 babies and performed thousands of gynecologic procedures.Located in the heart of the city, near Swedish Medical Center First Hill, we provide the full spectrum of OB/GYN care that is both individualized and evidence-based. Our dedicated medical staff of doctors and nurse practitioners works as a cohesive group and shares knowledge to provide excellent care for our patients.We are supported by a competent and caring office staff. Our obstetrician/gynecologists have extensive experience and are board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

We are seeking a part-time (3 days/week) Registered Nurse Triage. OB/GYN experience is preferred. This individual must successfully demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Performs general nursing care to patients, including phlebotomy. Administers prescribed medications and treatments as directed by physician within limits of training and expertise.
  • Responds to and refers incoming patient telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications, treatment instructions, and questions.
  • Acts as primary triage point all patient phone calls. Consults MD freely on medical matters. Clearly documents all patient telephone calls and interactions in patients medical record.
  • When appropriate, informs patients regarding test results.
  • Performs non-stress tests with ongoing interpretation and evaluation, consults MD with results.
  • Orients new OB patients to the office including medical history and first trimester education. Acts as primary non-physician contact for OB patients, along with MAs

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing with either a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associates of Science in Nursing.

Experience: OB/GYN clinical or OB hospital experience preferred.

Certificate/License: Valid state license to practice registered nursing. CPR certification is also required.

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Overview As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient's family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), ART, etc. Requirements Required Education/Experience: - Graduate of accredited school of nursing. - Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments. - Per the driver's license requirement noted below, must have a driving record acceptable to Risk Management. Required Credentials: - Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions. Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above. Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position. - Nurses working in the following areas are required to successfully obtain PEARS within 6 months of employment, and subsequently maintain at all times: - Acute Care Float - Cancer Care Unit - Dialysis - Infusion - Medical Unit - Psychiatric Unit - Rehabilitation Unit - Research nurses working in Cancer Care and CCTR - Surgical Unit - Vascular Access Services - Nurses working in the following areas are required to successfully obtain PALS within 3 months of employment, and subsequently maintain at all times: - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit - Cath Lab & Special Procedures - Clinical Research Center - Critical Care Float - Emergency Department - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - Pediatric Transport Control - Radiology (including Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy Lab) - Recovery Room (PACU) - Surgery (including Bellevue Surgery Center) - Urgent Care (all locations) - New graduate nurses in the following areas are required to successfully obtain PALS within 6 months of employment, and subsequently maintain at all times: - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit - Emergency Department - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - Radiology (including Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy Lab) - Recovery Room (PACU) - Surgery (including Bellevue Surgery Center) - Nurses working in the following areas are required to successfully obtain a Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Card from the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) within 6 months of employment, and subsequently maintain at all times: - Acute Care Float (Nurse Travelers are exempt from this requirement) - Cancer Care Unit - Hematology/Oncology - Infusion - Nurses working in Neonatal Transport Team are required to successfully obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification (in addition to PALS) within 3 months of employment. Current NRP and PALS is to be maintained at all times. - Nurses working in Airlift Northwest are required to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification by 9/30/18, or within 3 months of position entry, whichever is later. - Nurses working in the Psychiatric Unit and Child Psych Consultation are required to obtain Code Purple Certification (internal training) within 3 months of hire. The Code Purple training must be current at all times, i.e. annual training completed prior to the expiration date. - As per the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), for nurses performing moderately complex point of care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. For personnel trained outside of the U.S., records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency. - Specialty certification in area of practice may be required for specific departments. - Any position that requires use of a motor vehicle will require a current Washington State Driver's license. - If assigned to a Home Care Services department, a copy of required education for this position (diploma or transcript) must be submitted upon hire.
