Days (rotating weekends) and Nights
POSITION SUMMARY: To provide professional nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process. To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process.

  • Participates and cooperates in the unit based Quality Improvement processes.

  • Supports, maintains and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel.

  • Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patients right to privacy by protecting confidential information.

  • Plans and implements patient care and teaching based on a total assessment and the age of the patient.

  • Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient.

  • Other duties as assigned.
    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN.

  • Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state.

  • Current BCLS certification.

  • Medical/Surgical Nursing experience preferred.

  • Chemotherapy experience preferred.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

We are located on the Westside of El Paso, Texas close to the University of Texas El Paso campus. We provide exceptional patient care services to the El Paso and Fort Bliss communities, as well as Southern New Mexico and West Texas Regions. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the unit Director or designee the Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit. The Charge Nurse also provides feedback to the nursing director regarding patient care, budgetary, and strategic planning opportunities for improvement. POPULATION SERVED: ore competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Acute medical/surgical care of diseases and conditions including but not limited to: cardiovascular, pulmonary, neuro, GI, GU, GYN, skeletal/muscular, renal, including but not limited to: AMI, CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, shock, renal failure, metabolic disorders, etc. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process. * Assesses and monitors and recognizes changes in the patient's behavioral and physiological status; takes appropriate action based on assessment. * Utilizes professional skills and judgment in delivering and/or delegating care for patients. * Assists with unit employee process activities, including orientation, professional development. * Other duties as assigned within scope and practice of licensure. REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS * RN licensed in state of Texas or Compact State * BCLS * ACLS REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 1. Registered nursing PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES 1. Preferred experience as a Charge RN in Critical Care. 2. Experienced in Critical Care. 3. TNCC and CCRN 4. Effective communication skills; both orally and written. 5. Computer skills. 6. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. 7. Strong problem solving skills. 8.
