Job Summary

• The psychiatric unit nurse cares for patients with behavioral health illnesses in an acute care setting. The psychiatric unit nurse is responsible to conduct intake interviews, assess and evaluate the patient, establish a plan of care, maintain a safe therapeutic environment, work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and may conduct therapeutic groups.

• The Adult Psych Unit is a small acute care adult psychiatric unit that provides care for patients experiencing mental health crises. We use a multidisciplinary approach to provide psychiatric services for medication management, psychological assistance for individual and group therapy. We have our own social services to assist with needs for discharge, such as a placement or insurance needs. The nurses and techs on our unit work closely with other disciplines to provide a holistic care approach to ensure that our patients have the best discharge plan available to assist them with their needs within the community.

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program

• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
