The Registered Nurse in the Rehab (D6) conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. D6 Rehab is a 22-bed rehabilitation unit.

The Rehab program treats children with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, head trauma, spinal cord injury, anoxic brain insults, and cancer/blood disease patients. In addition, we also care for basic medical surgical patients like appendectomy, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, cellulitis and bowel prep. Our diverse diagnoses provide an excellent learning and professional development environment.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Minimum of one-year experience in pediatrics required, preferably in rehab. Ability to critically assess and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize patient care tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), CA RN license and American Heart Association BLS plus PALS required. Hours: Night shift 7pm-7am and Day shift 7am-7pm with variable days available.

Pay Scale Information $99,424.00-$171,506.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
