Responsibilities
Provides nursing services, including parenteral therapy for patients consistent with VNSNY philosophy, policy and Standards of Nursing Practice. Coordinates patients care services with physicians and other health care providers.
Works under general direction. Licensure: License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. IV Therapy Certification accredited by a nationally recognized approved infusion training program preferred.
Valid driver's license may be required, as determined by operational needs. Certification: BLS Certification required. Completion of VNSNY IV Therapy training program during orientation required.
Education: Associates Degree in Nursing from a state approved program with at least one-year experience as a full-time staff nurse in a medical/surgical nursing area, OR, Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an approved program accredited by the National League of Nursing, OR, Bachelors Degree from a non-approved program supplemented by content, which can be equated to the approved program required. Experience: Minimum of three years of inpatient experience, preferably in med/surg, required. Minimum one year of nursing infusion therapy required.
Proficiency in venous access and related infusion therapy skills required. Bilingual skills may be required, as determined by operational needs.
