Position Summary: RN Infusion Center The Infusion Center Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous hydration and intravenous medications, including Immune Globulin and Monoclonal Antibodies. #Provides education to patients regarding their disease and therapy. Participates in quality monitoring. The RN works independently and collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to provide effective and efficient care to patients with varied and complex needs. Our ideal applicant possesses specialized training in infusion therapy and has excellent patient care and communication skills. Infusion experience strongly preferred. Certification through Infusion Nurse#s Society (INS) expected within 2 years. Responsibilities:# Insert peripheral IVs Access and de-access central venous implanted ports Catheter de-clotting Central line dressing changes Administration of Monoclonal Antibodies and Immune Globulin, in addition to numerous other medications Monitoring of side effects and management of acute infusion reactions Therapeutic Phlebotomies Staff and patient education Keeps current on new advances in IV therapy and medications. May assist with new product evaluation. Performs other nursing duties as necessary Venipuncture Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.# BSN preferred.# Licensed to practice in New York State.# Previous outpatient experience preferred. Required Skills, Abilities and Attributes: Ability to organize and establish day-to-day priorities while utilizing critical thinking skills in all aspects of the job. Must be able to multi-task while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive. Excellent customer service skills and must display integrity, friendliness and compassion. Effective interpersonal communication and telephone skills. Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with patients, co-workers and medical staff. Must be able to demonstrate effective and appropriate written and oral communication skills. Ability to give, take and follow direction in a positive and appropriate manner. Must be flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow both personally and organizationally. Must be efficient and effective in the use of resources. Proficient in the use of computers for e-mail and electronic medical records as applicable. Salary Range: $29.65 - $50.37 Pay Grade: PRN Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
