The Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at the Smidt Heart Institute provides complete state-of-the-art care for patients with heart failure.
Led by Jaime Moriguchi, MD, Cedars-Sinai's program offers the most innovative cardiac technology, including left and right ventricular assist devices and Total Artificial Heart. Patients can access novel technologies through clinical trials.
Because the program is integral to the Heart Institute, patients have access to the nation's best cardiac programs and centers, including the Heart Transplant Program and Heart Failure Program.
Summary of Essential Duties:
The Clinical Nurse III, performs a variety of tasks specific to the needs of the patient population at the MCS and Heart Transplant Program in an office setting
Retrieve and record diagnostic test results done at Cedars-Sinai or locally
Preparing for lab review with MD/Coordinators
Enter orders for clinic visits,
Call patients with test results and medication changes
Pharmacy refill requests over the phone and/or on paper,
Follow-up on pending test results
You will use your clinical competencies for clinical data collection and analytics related to quality measures and MCS and research-related databases
Handle medication refill requests
Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse License required
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Specialty certification is required (or willing to obtain within 1 year from start date)
A minimum of 3years of acute care nursing experience required
ICU or Cardiac floor experience preferred
Experience with MCS patient population is beneficial
